Life In the Moment

(Emily Singleton)
2003
Emily Singleton
I used to think that life was for the learning,
believing life was a lesson to be learned the hard way.
Oh, I’ve learned the hard way.

I used to spend my time always yearning,
hoping, believing that something good would happen on some fine day.
Today I woke up to some fine day.

CHORUS
Now...
I live my life in the moment,
let go of the chaos and the torment,
I’m not sure where my expectations went,
Cause I’m just living now.
Right now.

I’ve lived so much of my life dreaming,
imagining all the things that the future might hold.
What could the future hold?

I’ve spent so much of my time always scheming,
trying to find a way to let go of the past before I got too old.
Now, I guess I’m just too old.

CHORUS
Because...

Now I live my life just living,
allowing myself to enjoy all that life has to offer me.
It has a lot to offer me.

Spending all my time taking and giving.
I’m not concerned with the balance, somehow I’ve learned just to let life be.
It feels so good to let it be.

CHORUS
Now...
